The Indian Space Research Organisation has rolled out the ‘Space on Wheels,’ a mobile exhibition carrying the models of launch vehicles, satellites, etc, to Vidarbha Region.
The intention behind the initiative
ISRO, since the 1960s has initiated various projects to explore a world beyond ours. The aim behind organising such an event was to provide insights on ISRO’s prowess in deploying rockets,
satellites and their applications to realise India’s vision of scientific development.
‘Space on Wheels’, has been touring several schools and public places and has attracted a large section of students and the general public.
‘Space on Wheels’ has models of the first two launch pads, Chandrayaan-1 Mission, Indian Mars orbiter mission – Mangalyaan, Technological applications like Indian remote sensing applications,
and Indian regional navigation satellite (IRNSS), an Indian satellite communication applications among other things. To provide a better insight into the world of space, the Moon’s surface was
displayed with an artistic view of the astronaut and Chandrayaan-II spacecraft.
